Economic Support Supervisor
Division of Family and Children Services

Job Description

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for our Economic Support Supervisor position in SouthWest Georgia- Tift County, GA
The City of Tifton is approximately 45 miles east of Albany
The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is the part of DHS that investigates child abuse; finds foster homes for abused and neglected children; helps low income, out-of-work parents get back on their feet; assists with childcare costs for low income parents who are working or in job training; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help troubled families.

Under limited supervision, our Economic Support Supervisor Supervisors will direct professional staff in developing their skills, delivering quality services, and documenting efforts. The Supervisor promotes awareness of programs within the community.

Economic Support Supervisors duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing activities of case workers. These case workers interview and investigate applicants and recipients to determine eligibility for use of social programs and agency resources.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree and two years of related experience with at least one year in a supervisory or team lead role
or
A High School Diploma/GED and four years of related experience with at least one year in a supervisory or team lead role
or
One year of experience as an Economic Support Specialist/AL; FICM2; MES; Error Control Specialist; or Revenue Max Specialist.

Candidates invited to interview should be prepared to discuss (among other areas) one or more of the following:
  • Leadership training/course/philosophy
  • Communications skills (dress, oral/written, attention to detail)
    Note: A test that covers basic math and reading comprehension is part of the interview process

This is a PG-13 position. Current state government employees are subject to DHS and/or State Personnel Administration rules/practices regarding salary.
