| Under limited supervision,
plans, implements and manages a regional, consolidated transportation
program that identifies and coordinates transportation services
for clients participating in funded programs of the Department of
Human Services (DHS) and other agencies served by the system. Manages
and ensures compliance with the DHS Vehicle and Risk Management
Policies and Procedures. Establishes and maintains working relationships
with the local DHS program managers, Department of Transportation
representatives, other pertinent agencies and county commissions
found within assigned counties. May supervise a small staff.
More specifically, responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate transportation services for DHS and DBHDD in Fulton,
DeKalb, Gwinnett and Rockdale counties (with the possibility of
the addition of the management of other counties) three of the most
populous counties in the state, which includes managing and monitoring
multiple contracts valued at approximately $4 million.
- Oversee Regional Transportation Office and supervise a Business
Operations Generalist.
- Conduct site visits and technical assistance visits to both transportation
providers and human service providers.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve any provider issues.
- Manage DHS and DBHDD vehicle related issues; inventories, inspections,
tags, titles, transfers, surplus issues, insurance issues, guidance
to both HSPs and contractors and vehicle requests.
- Management of the TSS monthly report statewide summary and Department/Division
summaries,
- Management of the statewide WIG report,
- TSS meeting coordination, and
- Other duties as necessary and as time permits for the RTC.
This position is responsible for Business Operations Specialist
(working title, Regional Transportation Coordinator) functions related
to the administration of the DHS Transportation Program in the DHS
Region 3 area (Fulton County, DeKalb County and other Metro Atlanta
counties). The position will be housed in Decatur.
