| The Georgia Department
of Human Services, Office
of Financial Services (OFS), is seeking qualified candidates
for the position of General Ledger
& Financial Reporting Manager
The
Georgia
Department of Human Services,(DHS) was formed in July 2009 as
part of the reorganization of the former Georgia Department of Human
Resources, which had served Georgia since 1972. DHS delivers a wide
range of human services designed to promote self-sufficiency, safety
and well-being for all Georgians.
The department is one of the largest agencies in state government
with an annual budget of $1.8 billion and 10,000 employees. DHS
is comprised of 3 Divisions and 7 Offices.

| The position is responsible
for ensuring the integrity of the DHS accounting system of record
or the General Ledger. It must ensure the General Ledger is accurate
and properly reconciled to all subsidiary ledgers (Accounts Receivable,
Accounts Payable, etc.).
In addition, the position is responsible for the accurate and timely
agency reporting to the State Accounting Office and DHS management.
It is also a critical player in managing audit relationships and
ensuring clean agency audit reports.
Finally, the General Ledger & Financial Reporting Manager is
expected to be a key contributor and advisor for the agency’s
accounting decisions and the operations of OFS. Expert accounting
knowledge, efficient data mining skill, strong analytical ability,
and results oriented supervisory experience are all critical elements
for success

| Qualifications |
| Completion of a Bachelor's
Degree in Accounting or Finance, AND Four years of
professional level experience in accounting and/or a closely related
fiscal activity, two of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative
or lead worker role |
| Preferred
Qualifications |
| Preference will be given to
candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above,
possess the following: |
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access,
and Word)
- Experience with PeopleSoft financials application
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

the statewide salary plan administration practices. This position
