Description |
| The Georgia Department
of Human Resources (DHR), Brain
& Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission (BSITFC), is seeking
qualified candidates for the position of Director
of Outreach and Advocacy. |
| The Director
of Outreach and Advocacy provides leadership to the Commission in
identifying the number and needs of people with traumatic brain
and spinal injuries and developing recommendations to address those
needs. Collaborates with the Commission, its Advisory Committee,
and the Executive Director to ensure effective management of the
Central Registry for Traumatic Brain and Spinal Injuries. Provides
direct staff support to the Advisory Committee in the completion
of its initiatives, including implementation of the State Action
Plan. Ensures integration of the Outreach & Advocacy Program
in all areas of the agency. Oversees Program contractors, staff
and interns. Networks with like-minded groups and other professionals
to foster cooperative working relationships and stay current on
public policy issues related to brain and spinal cord injuries and
the disability community.
Some travel is required.

Qualifications |
| A Bachelors degree
in a behavioral science (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Family Studies,
Gerontology, Criminal Justice, etc.) and three to five years of experience
in a human services field. |
| Preferred
Qualifications |
| Preference will
be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications
listed above, possess the following: |
- Advanced degree in a behavioral science (e.g., Psychology, Sociology,
Family Studies, Gerontology, Criminal Justice, etc.) and three
years of program management or public policy experience
- Knowledge of disability issues
- Demonstrated commitment to the vision, mission, and goals of
the Commission
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

a competitive salary (PG-15/$34,533 - $60,487), we offer a generous
